Taste & Sound

Taste & Sound is a trio of musicians, including co-owner of South Philly Barbacoa, Ben Miller, transcends the sounds of cooking into an experimental musical performance. Along with percussionist and Philadelphia native Shakoor Hakeem and New York based cornetist Graham Haynes, son of legendary Roy Haynes, they create a musical performance that incorporates all elements of a meal being prepared. The duo, Hakeem and Miller, have previously performed at the Free Library of Philadelphia's Culinary Literacy Center and at Isiah Zagar’s studio. Taste & Sound has shared the stage with guest musicians such as multi- instrumentalist Moor Mother, saxophonist Maria Grand, and German contrabass player Vincent Arp.
