Sera Cahoone

The pedal steel, the fiddle, the hush of a song sung from the heart—the world of American roots music is no stranger to Seattle songwriter Sera Cahoone. After three albums on Sub Pop Records and years at the top of the indie charts, she’s returning to her earliest influences. Growing up, Cahoone's father, a Rocky Mountain dynamite salesman, took the family to mining conferences at old honky-tonks. The sounds she heard there—the twang of country crooners, cowboy boots on peanut shells—have found their way into a new album, From Where I Started (to be released March 24, 2017). It’s an album about falling in and out of love, finding new hope, and learning that the best way to move forward is to remember where you began.
