Deerhoof

Deerhoof is an independent music group consisting of John Dieterich, Satomi Matsuzaki, Ed Rodriguez and Greg Saunier. Since their formation in 1994 in San Francisco, they have been leaderless, have self-produced their records, and have self-managed their career. All members contribute songs and play various instruments. The band's live shows, normally with Matsuzaki on vocals and bass, Dieterich and Rodriguez on guitars, and Saunier on drums, are known for their minimal gear, maximal volume, and surrealist banter. Although their erratic style is not consistently categorized by genre, descriptions such as "intoxicating mix of noise, sugary melodies, and experimental spirit".
