Bali Yaaah

Bali Yaaah is a neo-psych art rock band with a fetish for dark moods and trips through the jungle. The name of the band comes from a form of freeze tag played by kids in Japan. Organ and vocalist, Chris Brown spent some time in Kyoto, Japan and learned about the special move of creating a “barrier” around yourself while playing the game. He found the word in a Japanese phrase book and it was spelled, "Bali Yaaah". Along with Jonas Hodges(guitar), Jason Ferguson(drums) and Matt Presley(bass) the music mixes elements of vintage psych, post punk and Gamelon orchestra tonality to create a foreign yet familiar mystique. For their new EP, Make Belief, the band has gathered a group of songs about social circumstance, false prophets, the cycle of life and the contradictions of self.
