Aura Trio

“If you choose to try and stay stagnant, things around you will still grow and you will be left behind,”- Aùra Trio Avant-garde and unorthodox, Aùra is an acoustic interdisciplinary group. The trio employed musical concepts from many genres, including dance, African diaspora folklore and Black American music. But, rather than following the often awkward trends of fusion, re-channelled the disparate forms through their own highly energized style. Formed in Philadelphia, the group features longtime friends flutist Elijah J Thomas , drummer Benjamin Singer, Hand percussionist Shakoor Hakeem and special guest saxophonist Yesseh Furaha-Ali.
